Hello!

I have a question regarding mounting. My garage slab "extends" a few decimeters beyond the garage door. This causes unnecessary wear on the floor paint/flakes as that part is outdoors year-round. Therefore, I asked a metal company to cut and bend a threshold from stainless steel. I have now received it, and it fits perfectly. It is about 30 cm deep and has a 5 cm flange that is bent downwards.

My question is how to best attach this threshold to my garage floor (cast slab). Screwing seems to be the easiest and most practical method. But how do you get a good countersink in 2 mm stainless steel? And what kind of screw should be used? Some form of plug since it will be attached to the slab?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

CH

Glue it with Tremco PL400. However, it is important that you press it and allow air to escape when you press it in place. So don't apply the glue in rings but zigzag the entire surface. If it doesn't hold (which I doubt), you can simply try another solution.

I also believe in bonding, but also secure with screws at the edges. Drill 5mm holes with cobalt drill and countersink with 10mm cobalt drill. NOTE!!! Drill sllllooowwwwwly. Use regular plastic plug.
