I have an old carpet beater stand made of 50mm iron pipes that, in terms of distance, is suitable for hanging a hammock. I'd like to make it a bit more solid than just tying a rope, so I'm searching for a suitable clamp to attach around the pipe.

A regular hose clamp works for about a week but then breaks. This is because it doesn’t have a natural loop, and the clamp wraps around both the pipe and more.

I found this one, but the question is whether it is strong enough to handle the load. I suspect that the threaded nut's weld might be too weak.

Alternatives?

I would have welded or alternatively drilled a hole and put in an eyelet. I think it will be difficult to achieve a durable solution with some type of clamp.
Then it's convenient to just unhook the hammock when you're done resting.

Definitely a solution. Feels a bit more complicated to implement + it's not possible to adjust afterwards, but maybe that's a small problem. I'll have to think about it.

Now we don't know the weight of the person intending to use the hammock? 50 mm steel tube, how high? Maybe a tube between the stands!

Already now there are pipes in between, or what do you mean? So an upside-down U of 50mm pipe stuck into the ground

Can't you clamp some form of stop with a hose clamp otherwise? It should be enough to keep the rope from sliding down.

Yes, if a normally sensible person had set up the hammock.

Between the mat and the pole, one of these is intended to sit.:D

Between the hammock and the pole, something like this is meant to be placed.:D
I thought you could have a short string first, which it could then attach to. But @Daniel 109 probably suggests the best solution.

Put on an exhaust clamp. Art 79-2351

Yes, smart. Then maybe you can just thread an ögle directly on?

Should you go for 48mm or 54mm if the pole is 50?

Why not the one I suggested at 51mm.
Choose the nearest dimension above the pipe's dimension.

How could I miss that? :D
