I am going to install a roller blind over our balcony door. It turned out that there is a steel beam above the door. Is it still possible to screw it up and what type of screw should be used, do I need a plug? Or is there any other suitable way to attach the roller blind?

Screwing works well. You need to drill of course, it can be difficult if you don't have the right equipment.
It can work with sheet metal screws otherwise you can tap the holes and use machine-threaded screws.
Maybe it's easier to glue a suitable piece of wood and then screw into it?

You can always attach it with a bolt gun or do as anaitis suggests, glue up a wooden bracket with a good glue like tec7 (glues strongly 27kg / cm2), adheres to almost everything and then screw up the blind into it.
