Planning the spring shed project and have some questions about how to set nail battens for horizontal larch cladding. To facilitate insulation, I will set the wall studs and rafters at 600 cc. However, when reading about larch cladding, it is recommended to fasten it at 400 cc to prevent twisting. Does it work to set standing 34*70 nail battens that only attach to the sill plate and wall plate where needed to achieve the correct distance? Or should I complicate things with nogging pieces (and thereby add more thermal bridges)? Grateful for input!
