I am going to attach a 45x95 pressure-treated post to the facade (I'm going to build a shorter fence). The facade consists of a batten panel. Can I attach it directly to the facade, or should I find a place where there is a stud? What type of screw (dimension?) is appropriate?
Best regards, Per

Look for places where the studs are located in the facade. (It should be fairly easy if you see where the nail heads "shine" through the paint. Probably placed at cc 60cm vertically?)
The dimension of the screw depends on the load you intend to have...
Some form of French screw/bolt, either 8 or 10mm thick, and long enough to reach through your 45mm stud + possibly cover 22mm + panel 22mm and into the stud behind...
Pre-drill in the panel if possible, that way you avoid it cracking when you drive in the bolt.
Best regards,
Thomas

Also take a (flat) wood drill and drill through half of the pole to avoid using very long screws. 16-20mm might be suitable so you can fit a sleeve for tightening. Angle it slightly slightly slightly upwards to prevent water from standing in the hole.
