Hello!
Young & inexperienced, I bought a house from '63, all original, completely unaware that there could be asbestos in the house. I took the crowbar and tore everything out, then was informed by acquaintances that we should be aware of this wonderful yet treacherous material. Anxiety.
Now to my question. We tore down a "woven wallpaper" that was on the wall down to the basement. It was very difficult to remove and once we got it off, it was black behind it. I haven't found any information, but was black adhesive used on concrete walls too?
Then we renovated the bathroom and behind the Perstorp panels, which were very easy to remove, we found this brown/black material? Could there have been asbestos in that too? Or is it common brown adhesive they used?

In the first image, we answer: probably not asbestos, but some form of tar/bitumen used as a kind of moisture barrier. (Don't Google if you suffer from health anxiety.)
In the second image, we answer: hard to say for sure, but usually not asbestos.
