Currently renovating an apartment from '36. Removed the wallpaper and moldings, and pieces of the plaster came off. Could these small fibers be asbestos in the plaster? Or does it not look like it? Zoom in on the image.
Best regards, Mathilda

Chicken wire made of iron wire.

Probably means the small fluff at the bottom.

Exactly, I mean the fluff and the threads on the upper edge of the chicken wire

Send for analysis.

Not impossible, especially if it's from the golden age of asbestos, i.e., the 50s-60s.
I was in Greece in the 90s during the off-season when they were sprucing up the island for the summer. Outside a house they were renovating, there were bags labeled "asbestos" in Cyrillic letters. In Sweden, they stopped using asbestos in that way a little earlier.

But isn't it easier to just patch up the holes that were made then? Then it doesn't matter what's hiding behind there.........Use kalkbruk. Very easy to fill with and matches well with what's there. Softer to work with and finish than any cement mortar that becomes rock hard.
