Hello!

I'm currently at an Airbnb place in Israel and have unfortunately noticed that one of the doors in the apartment is a bit damaged and some material is sticking out, which makes me a little worried. In some countries, asbestos has been used in fire doors, and maybe some of you might know if especially the white part below might resemble asbestos?

This is how asbestos in asbestos doors should look: https://www.airsafe.net.au/news/asbestos-fire-doors-dont-put-yourself-risk

Thank you!

Am too poorly informed to answer if it is asbestos. But if you're not going to start tearing down the door and continue living there for a few years, it's almost completely harmless - asbestos or not.

Have a drink and fjöl away! Or, scrape off and send some material to the “will-I-die-early-laboratory” in Örkelljunga when you get home to sozzie-Sweden!
