Hello!

Yes, as the title suggests, I'm wondering what this material is :) The board is light gray in color.

I'm going to repaint a house from 1916 that has been renovated in stages and had eternit in the basement and other places (I think the roof).

If this is eternit, I'm wondering how to approach the overhang, does the same procedure apply as for the facade? wash/scrape off dried paint and prime with visir before finally painting? (i.e., leave the eternit where it is)

  • Close-up of a house soffit showing a light gray board, possibly asbestos, with peeling paint and rust stains. The image relates to renovation and painting queries.
  • Close-up of a light gray board with textured surface, possibly material for a renovation project from a 1916 house, potentially asbestos cement.
  • Rafter under a house eave with light gray boards, yellow siding, and white gutter; questions about whether the material is asbestos cement.
  • Close-up of a peeling, light gray board under an eave, possibly asbestos cement, with background of trees and a roof.
Looks like masonite not like eternit

Thanks for the response! I scraped and painted. I think it adhered well. This is how the result turned out.
