Are the posts by the stairs load-bearing?

The posts are not attached to the stringer and feel somewhat weak with their 65mm to have any load-bearing function at the stairwell. I guess it's solely about fall protection, what do you think?

Nicely corrected (I didn't see your post before I wrote mine, so my post was to the original poster) I missed it on the drawing. Then of course the posts are load-bearing.
