Hello!

I have a 46 sqm garage that we dismantled from a plot where they were going to build something else where the garage stood. It has been in the same snow zone where I live since the 70s when it was built with loose materials, meaning that the roof trusses are also "homemade." If I were to apply for a building permit for this, would I need to replace the roof trusses, or is it "legal" to use homemade roof trusses?

Best regards

Completely legal, it's only trusses that are sold that need to be CE marked.

And if they have lasted for 45 years, it's a good proof that they are strong enough.
If they are in good condition, that is (and not damaged during dismantling).

Okay, thank you for the help! Yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them at all!

Best regards

However, the municipality may require to see calculations showing that the roof trusses meet the strength requirements demanded by the building.
