Don't know if this is the right forum section but I'm trying. I'm building a fence and gate for the garden and was looking at hinges for the gate. Hornbach has 2 variants and I'm wondering if there's any functional difference.

More "standard" hinges

And these, which, if I understood correctly, are called hook hinges

This is what the fence looks like. The gate will be 120 wide and 180 high

If you want to be able to take off the gate, you should have strap hinges. That is the practical difference.

Had all days of the week chosen to be able to unhook the gate when needed.

Thanks, good input. Yes, it's probably smart to be able to do that. or at least it doesn't hurt. In the store, it said that you should have hinge length corresponding to 1/2 the width of the gate. Guess that longer is better if you are between two
