Planning to install acoustic panels on a wall that slopes towards a ceiling and therefore need to cut them at a certain angle.

Considering which tools are best suited? The panel is made of polyester (the black mat underneath) and MDF. I plan to mark the panel on the front and back, start by cutting the polyester with a utility knife from the back, and then saw the slats with a fine-toothed Japanese saw. Do you think I can manage with these tools for these materials, or will it end up looking bad?

Table saw or circular saw not available?
Whatever you do, test on a scrap piece first to achieve the desired result.

Unfortunately not! Yes, that was a good idea to test first, thank you!

A plunge saw would have been perfect for this!

A disc of some kind both above and below to prevent the material from splintering when sawing.
The best is a plunge saw with a guide rail and accompanying clamps.
The easiest solution is a regular circular saw and a straightedge/board/rule/board that is perfectly straight, which you secure with regular clamps. This way, you get an edge you can run the saw along.
A plunge saw is attached to and rides on its guide rail.

Set up along the stairs a few weeks ago, thought it was quite difficult material to work with but tried to use the plunge saw as much as possible. Was thinking about a Japanese saw for the finer details but didn't have one at home Wooden staircase with vertical slats and visible steps, recently installed.
