Anchoring wardrobe to the wall
I am going to anchor a large wardrobe to the wall. My two-year-old will be living in the room, so it really needs to be secure. How do I do this in the best way? Which screws should I use? Do I need anchors?
The wall is a regular interior wall with wooden studs with a layer of drywall and a layer of OSB.
I have these screws at home:

What do the mounts in the wardrobe look like?
25 mm can work if the wooden stud is behind single plasterboard; if you don't have a stud behind, use the M5 Expander.
Mark the holes, then test drill with a smaller drill bit to see if it's wood or metal behind. I usually use a 2 mm bit, then measure the depth of the holes to check if it goes straight through, ensuring the length of the screw goes in freely.
I now see that M4 you have is for single plasterboard = S.
and M5 for double plasterboard = D.

TS was considering the screws/molly available in the "home stock". They actually work well even with molly for double drywall if it's a gypsum/OSB wall, though I find that 25mm wood screws are too short as they don't grip fully in the OSB depending on how much the wardrobe bracket takes up the length.
Yes, but TS asked if it was possible to use any of the screws/Molly that were already purchased. Screws at 25mm I think are too short if it's for fastening "ala" IKEA brackets, and then you could use double Molly. I myself have a simple Molly tool, and this is where most people make the mistake of not tightening the Molly before screwing, instead trying to use the screw to expand it from the back, which works in most cases with double plasterboard; with OSB underneath, there shouldn't be any problem.JLyck said:
