Alternatives to braces in barn

Have demolished part of a barn that is now framed and insulated. Wondering if anyone has any alternatives to diagonal braces or wall panels to achieve stability in the construction? I'm not building it myself, but maybe I could give my builder a tip while he thinks about it...

More concrete question: could it be possible to use some type of metal strip or similar instead of diagonal braces in wood?
