Hello.

I'm going to glue drywall boards in our stairwell and have previously used PL600, which I think has worked well.

But now I'm going to glue up quite a few boards, and in the past, I've used an entire cartridge per board.

I might be using too much adhesive, but I'm also hesitant to risk using too little.

Is there a cheaper alternative that works just as well or better? PL600 costs 49 SEK per cartridge where I shop.

What material do you have behind the drywall, I mean what are you gluing against?

Skivlim G46 from Gyproc?

The walls are plastered and then painted with plastic paint.

imported_Anders_S: How much do you think it costs?

Costs about 1400 kronor for 15 liters. Uses 0.5 l for full gluing. However, I'm unsure how much one needs to glue. Full gluing feels overkill (and expensive).

15 liters. Now we're talking. Then I can glue like crazy.

Otherwise, it works excellently to glue with plaster. Costs a couple of hundred for a whole bag (which you mix with water). I have used it to glue drywall panels on my wallpapered brick walls. It's been up for 10 years now without any problems!

I agree! Go with gipsbruk, or is it also the ceiling/sloped ceiling that needs to be plastered? If so, use gipsbruk on the walls and pl600 on the ceiling. Tile adhesive should also work and there you have quicker adhesion. Also bought in a 25kg sack and costs a couple of hundred.

If the interior walls are completely dry, using gypsum plaster will be very cheap/good!

Fair.

But does it also work on painted walls? They don't absorb as much as wallpaper or raw plaster.
It's only on walls that the boards are to be attached.

Should the entire board be covered with gypsum mortar or is it enough to apply in strips like my little illustration?

And how thick should the mortar be applied?

Put a few solid "kladdar" on the back. Then tap in the board with a piece of wood and a hammer.

Thank you. I just saw that the PDF file Norell suggested contained everything I needed to know.

Now it also became cheap :)

I also already have 25 kg of gipsspackel at home.

Thanks a ton for the responses. Saves me a lot of money.

Excuse my curiosity, but why do you have to glue all the boards? Is there really nothing to screw into?!?

Because it is convenient and fast, and the wall is made of concrete which needs to be drilled to insert screws.
