Alternative to perforated tape for attaching truss and sill to wall stud
Hello, I had to move a wall stud in the wall to make room for a larger window. I had to cut the old strap ties that held the eave/wall stud/sole plate together.
I now realize that I can't put new strap ties over the roof truss and under the sole plate, so my question is what is an acceptable replacement for this.
I first thought of really large angle brackets, but then you get tensile forces in the direction of the screws on one side of the angle bracket and not across, as with strap ties, and therefore not as durable.
For the roof truss: I can only screw from one direction so I can't use fork brackets. Otherwise, perhaps a joist hanger, or possibly two pieces, one from each side of the stud?
For the sole plate: what is the equivalent?
Suggestions welcome.

yes, indeed, but will it hold for a storm that wants to lift the rocket? You probably need a joint that is very strong in tensile force, right?F fribygg said:
I don't know the building codes, I was planning to do it as it was done before, but now that didn't work in this case, so I have to find another equivalently strong solution.
