I am looking for a "narrower" alternative to a 45*145 beam that I can use as part of a floor structure along with existing beams. The span is 3.40m.
The material should have the same load-bearing capacity and deflection resistance as a 45*145 beam but preferably should not be thicker than 70mm.
- Steel? - what dimensions in that case?
- A combination of wood and steel? Got a suggestion of a 70*45 beam together with 5mm flat steel?
- Any other suggestions?
