Advice on tiles in the hallway (under the stairs) wanted

We want to change the floor (there is underfloor heating) in the hallway and install more modern ceramic tiles. I'm wondering how we should handle the area under the stairs? Should we cut the legs of the stairs and lay tiles underneath?

The entire staircase looks like this. We will also renovate it after the floor and build a storage under it. Is it just the last step that needs to be removed? Was hoping to skip disassembling the staircase

If you are going to lay under the stairs, then it needs to be removed, but there is no point in doing so if your old tiles are sitting well, then just sand down any possible grout seams and lay over them.
