Hello. The children are currently sleeping in a large bedroom that was previously divided. (Townhouse)

We plan to divide the room with a simple wall (studs/drywall) and are wondering how to handle the new parquet flooring.

1
Do it over the entire room and place the new wall on top
+ Easier to lay
+ Complete floor in case the next owner wants to open it again.
- Must tear down the wall if the next owner wants to change

2
Place the wall and then lay two separate floors
+ You can change the floor without tearing down the wall
- Seam if you want to open it (next owner)

A parquet floor should normally be laid floating, i.e., it must be able to move when the air becomes drier or more humid indoors. It sounds a bit difficult to combine that with placing a wall on top of it.
