Hello. Need your help. We live in a 1.5-story house from Smålandsvillan. We hired a construction company that built the upper floor. But we have noticed and discovered that the short walls 1 m in height before the sloped ceiling are not insulated. The ceiling itself is insulated all the way down. Open at the eaves for ventilation. In winters you can feel the cold draft coming out of the electrical outlet even... with today's electricity prices, we thought about adding insulation, but discovered after making a hole that at the crosswall there are only drywall boards... no wonder it's been cold. Crawling in the small space behind the wall is not an option, so we'll have to insulate from the inside. To not steal too much space, we thought about using 3 cm polystyrene. Do we need a vapor barrier in between? It would then be from outside to inside. Option 1 = Drywall, polystyrene, drywall, and surface layer. Option 2 = Drywall, vapor barrier, drywall, and surface layer.

Which do you recommend?

3cm is very little. What is the thickness of the wall studs you have? I would remove the drywall and insulate with glass wool in the same thickness as the stud. Add plywood and drywall.
