A little pig built a house of straw...
When I was setting up the studs for my new interior wall, it turned out that the plaster is thick and doesn't hold anything at all. About 20mm in, I hit old bricks that are rock hard. This results in quite large craters in the plaster as I need to go 20-25mm into the brick (longer screws are challenging to find considering the studs and so on).
I'm making about 10 holes to succeed with maybe 2-3 of them.
So, I thought I would attach studs to the ceiling and floor instead and fasten them there, but then it turns out the ceiling consists of reeds and plaster, i.e., not much to fasten to.
Does anyone have a good solution for what to do now?
Can I glue a stud to the ceiling instead of screwing it in?
Should I try to find some sort of studs under the reeds to attach to?
Should I bite the bullet and tear down the plaster so that I can reach the brick underneath? (I'd like to avoid the mess that would bring, especially now during the holiday season).

The wall is attached to the ceiling and floor.
You use metal tracks, which you easily screw in place. You place studs in the tracks.
Ceiling: There is wood just under the plaster/reed. Sparse, with a gap of a few centimeters, which means you might miss some screws, but most should hold. 5-6 cm screws are sufficient, drywall screws for wood 57 mm, work great.
Floor: Screw with whatever crap you have.

A thought:
If I place a wooden stud against the floor to set the horizontal studs in, haven't I then missed the opportunity to have a haven for spiders and fresh air behind the drywall because the air won't be able to circulate?
Is it a good idea to mill some air grooves into the floor stud to ensure air movement?

Encountered another problem:
I always intended to use a metal stud against the outer wall, but the gap between the dropped ceiling and the wall is only about 38mm.
HOW bad is it to plane down a 45mm stud and attach it to the mentioned ceiling and then place the metal stud below this? I could possibly place construction plastic on the side that faces the outer wall?
I can't plane down the ceiling because there is a stud right at the edge.
