Hello!
Tried to use the wood guide's reference to find out how far between the posts I can have for a bike shed
Shed dimensions
Dimensions 4 meters x 2.10 meters
Can a 45x220 span 4 meters between posts? Or how far can it span? Considering using 2 bolted 120 or 95 as posts
live in northern Sweden
maybe someone has a good reference guide somewhere?

No, in your area 45x220 C 24 with a 4 m span won't work. It will sag a lot. If you put a post in the middle, you can use 45x145.
thanks for the response! Is there anywhere you can calculate this easily? I would like to know which glulam beam I need for this. I really don't want a post in the middle. Also, what is required for posts to support the glulam beam?J justusandersson said:

90x225 is sufficient for a glulam beam. Posts can be glulam 90x90 if you want it to look nice, otherwise, it's fine with double screw-laminated 45x95 C 24. I don't know anywhere you can calculate this yourself in a simple way. Most of these tools are usually intended for conventionally designed buildings with gable roofs, not bicycle sheds.
thanks for the info! Found a dimensions guide at XL bygg which https://www.butik.xlbygg.se/hoor/ap...e6e169c218/Dimensioneringstabeller limträ.pdfJ justusandersson said:90x225 is sufficient for a glulam beam. under table 8d which gave me 90x225 so it can be a tip for the future.
