Can't quite figure it out. In addition to the standard 120 insulation, I want to add a 45 one. But what about my gypsum's attachment points? Blocking is the only solution I can think of.

If you mean that you're going to add an additional 45 mm of insulation, it is most common to place 45-studs crosswise over the standing studs and then you can mount the drywall horizontally. This way, you also reduce the thermal bridges.

Hello

Another option is to place a chipboard or OSB board before the drywall - then you can mount the drywall "vertically" - OSB or chipboard is also good if you plan to hang something on the wall...

So I was planning to do, mount OSB horizontally and then the gypsum vertically.

You can use vertical mounting on horizontal battens even with a single layer of plasterboard, alternatively horizontal mounting with nogging at the short joints. If you're using two layers of plasterboard, you can have both vertical provided that you stagger the second layer by half a sheet to avoid long joints.
