Hello!

I'm going to plaster a ceiling in the basement, currently about 22*95 wooden boards with sawdust on top and nothing else. A lot of footstep noise from the floor above, so I was thinking of putting double layers of plasterboard.

At the same time, I thought it would be convenient to get new electricity for lighting, and the easiest would be to install 16mm plasterboard in one layer, make sure there are tracks for 16mm flexible conduit that a qualified electrician can install, and then put a layer of regular plasterboard on it.

In other words:
Where can I buy 16mm plasterboard in the Gothenburg area?

or:
How can I achieve a good installation layer for electricity in the ceiling?

Have never heard of plaster thicker than 13mm.

Install masonite between gypsum and boards? 3.2 +13mm=16.2mm

Can be done in narrow strips where it will be screwed...

Why not just space out with sparse paneling and run the hose along it?

Tiger79: Thanks for the tip, I'm kind of into that, but the fewer steps and screws, the happier I am :). For example, does Hornbach have such thin masonite?

RetepG: I'm on the hunt for good sound insulation, sparse doesn't dampen well compared to gypsum. I'd rather not lower the ceiling more than necessary, so 16 mm sparse + 13 mm gypsum + 13 mm gypsum is too much.

Masonite is available in sheets of 120*240cm at all building supply stores.

Attach it with a few roofing nails, the whole thing is secured properly with drywall screws of appropriate length.

You still can't bend the hose with only 16mm of room. It's already tricky to get a gentle bend if it's spaced with 28mm.

Or are you thinking about very shallow ceiling boxes?

Tiger: Thanks!

pbengtsson: thanks!

Mikalel_L: Ceiling boxes can be recessed into the wood if you want, so normal 45mm should work. I haven't planned for more than about 3 ceiling boxes, so it's not a large amount. Thanks for the answer anyway :)
