Hello,
I know the topic has already been raised a few times, but here I am doing it again.
We have a polished concrete slab with waterborne underfloor heating as the finished floor on the ground floor. Now we are to mount a wooden pillar against the concrete slab in a room, about 2m into the room from the outer wall (you don't need to ask why). What is the risk of moisture migration up into the pillar if we don't place any capillary-breaking layer between the pillar and the concrete? Aesthetically, I would prefer it to be snug against the floor. If I use tar paper, there will be a gap of a few mm.
