Planning to install a new ceiling on a sloped roof, we want wood paneling similar to raw plank but, of course, as thin as possible due to the weight. We've found V-groove spruce paneling 15x120 at a good price (79 SEK/sqm), but it doesn't have end-matching and, of course, doesn't come in the full length (10m:D). Will it be a problem without end-matching? Do we have to join over the battens?

Grateful for opinions and tips on other similar paneling at a good price.:)

No one knows if the lack of ändspont will cause problems for me later on in any way!?..

S
either tongue-and-groove or splice with virke

S
looks best however with tongue and groove ends or continuous jointing on rafter

Hmm... Then I might have to keep looking for material with end tongues. I think rough tongue-and-groove is unnecessarily thick...

S
less than 15mm?

Yes, if there is one. It's of course a cost issue :-)

Anyone know where to find untreated spontpanel? I've been searching around without much success.

It's probably available at most building supply stores. I personally installed untreated vertical wooden paneling by the brand Siljan in our attic's sloped ceiling. Although, I painted it myself (5 times, quite the hassle). It turned out really well though!

Baseco
Siljan
and Moelven

are some manufacturers that all have what you're looking for.
