Hello,

I am going to put new handles on some closet doors. The current doors have recessed handles as shown in the picture. I need to fill these holes with something that can be screwed into. I have only used regular wall filler for smaller holes before and therefore wonder which product is best suited for this situation.

The hole/handle is approximately 17 cm long, 4 cm high, and 3 cm deep.

Grateful for any tips!

Check out Plastic Padding, there are a few different variants.

Spontaneously, don't waste time and buy new doors

Otherwise, saw a fitting piece of wood as a filler that you glue in and then smoothly fill the rest before lacquering

Otherwise, cut a fitting piece of wood as filler, glue it in, and then evenly fill the remaining gaps before lacquering.
I would have bought new doors if it weren't for the fact that these have been discontinued and they have non-standard dimensions that can't be bought at, for example, Ikea.
