I wonder if when installing new windows in a house (new construction), is it the recommended method to leave the protective plastic on them and attempt to remove it after the installation is complete?
It seems that this method was used on our house with the result that on the inside, in the seam between the window and the wall, red from the protective plastic is peeking through, and it's the same story on the outside.
Is this an accepted method?

That's not something I recognize. On the houses we manufacture, there is no protective plastic on the windows, but if there had been, it's logical to remove it before installing the window.
