Hi,

I want to remove the door in the attached image and create a larger opening about 40 cm wider to the left of the door. At the same time, I want to open up the opening about 20 cm towards the beam in the ceiling.

My house has been extended, and the photo is taken from the extension towards the old part, and the company that did the extension has screwed the large beam in the ceiling to the old exterior wall. The beam is not supported from below but is only attached to the old exterior wall. The joists in the extension rest on the beam in the image, and there is a beam exactly where I cut the drywall to the left, one in the middle above the door, and one just to the right of the door.

So what I want to do is remove two of the old planks from the previous exterior wall that the large beam is screwed into.

Is it safe to do this without additional support?

Thanks in advance!
