Hello everyone,
I need some tips on how to proceed.
The situation is as follows. I'm planning to build an aquarium into the wall so that it's visible from both the kitchen and the living room. The tank itself will be 160'35'30.
My question is as follows:
The wall is made of lightweight concrete, and the hole I'm going to make is relatively wide, so my plan is to insert an I-beam at the top. What I need advice on is how much of the beam should be supported by the wall. For instance, if I have the beam 200cm long, should it go 20cm into each wall on the sides? Or should it be longer, or could I make it shorter, like only 10cm at each end?
And what dimension should the beam be?
Thank you so much for the advice
Take care!
