The tiler who will lay the tiles has mentioned that it takes longer for him to lay laser-cut tiles compared to non-laser-cut ones. Is this really true? He gave the explanation that as a tiler, one must be more precise, but shouldn't a skilled tiler always be precise?

I think it indicates that he is not as skilled as he should be.

Got the impression that you have to be more careful when it's laser-cut and not entirely uncommon around here for the tilers to charge a little extra for it.

Perhaps it's related to wanting laser-cut tiles to be laid with minimal joints, which is more time-consuming than laying with wide joints.

That's how it has been explained to me, being a customer.

That seems reasonable, minimal gaps are visible and noticeable.

Okay, then maybe it is reasonable after all. It sounded odd to me, but oh well...

If all walls were also laser-cut and in modular dimensions, it would probably be faster to install laser-cut tiles.
