Approximately yes... When I put gypsum on the boards, not many screws end up on a stud. The gypsum board doesn't need to be screwed into a stud, so there's no reason to mark exactly where they are before screwing. Along the edges, you screw a couple of cm into the joint compound and in the middle of the board, it ends up where it ends up.

That's one of the options I've also considered, but then I think the TV weighs 57 kg... would 6 M8 with molly be able to hold it in place without tipping?
If I remember correctly, we calculated with 60kg/6 mm screws when we mounted kitchens... Molly is about 25kg/screw.

Difference between should be and are.

But if you have a wooden board, e.g. OSB, it's perfectly fine to mount the TV on it with wood screws. That should be sufficient for a TV that is mounted with a few screws. Now, I don't remember for sure, but I think that OSB can hold about 100 kg with a single screw.

I have these screws that came with the wall mounts, I've also bought wood screws.

Fairly oversized if you're going to use 6 of them.....

Molly is probably 25kg/ screw

A little update, I found a wooden stud and nailed my way to where I think the center is. Now the next problem remains, I've measured both 45 cm and 60 from a known stud, yet I didn't find any other stud at that distance? Could it be 30 cm then I would have still hit a stud at 60...

Edit: the house is from the 70s and I’m starting to suspect now that there's only a standalone stud and no more...

Stop looking for studs.
If you have plasterboard and OSB or plywood, you can easily hang up the largest TV you find at Elgiganten (or elsewhere) without needing to screw into a stud.

Stop looking. You have a wooden board behind the drywall that will hold it. Try at 30 as well, but logically the next one should be at 60, and you've already been there?

Alright, I plan to attach 2 with wood screws in the stud and the rest with molly should be stable 😅

Thanks for the help everyone, really appreciate it much ♥️

You don't need Molly with your wooden board.

If a hole has been drilled, you can take a bent steel wire and thread it in, then twist it until it hits the beam, mark the angle, and then you can easily see exactly where the beam goes.

Wood screws in the board are probably better than molly.

If the TV weighs 57 kg, it can hang on a screw. However, if you plan to have a stand that moves it out from the wall and allows for tilting, it's wise to screw into the studs or use 4 Molly or some suitable screws that grip well in the OSB/plywood behind the drywall.
