Hello, I am furnishing a 4.5x6.5m room in the basement for living with a kitchen and living room. Since the ceiling height is only 204cm, I want to maximize the feeling of height.

Considerations;
Flat white ceiling or beveled ceiling gypsum?
Recessed spotlights or try to avoid ceiling lights altogether? Other alternatives...
Does anyone know how to think to avoid further affecting the feeling of low ceilings?

If there is space in the construction for recessed spotlights, this is the perfect place to install them. This doesn't prevent having other "normal" lamps as well for reading, cozy, and work lighting.

(I lived for a couple of decades in a house with a 206 cm ceiling height on the upper floor. The only problem was the doorways, where one would easily hit their head. But you got used to it :) )

Thinking that maybe it makes a difference in the experience if the ceiling "creeps down" during a pattern or lights shine close to the eyes at low ceiling height... or vice versa?!
