I haven't actually bothered to ask, but I saw that the shelves (in "my" store) became more and more empty a year ago and then were compressed into a clearance assortment. "Out of stock from the supplier" usually means "we couldn't buy in cheaply enough."
Everything good always disappears. 🤨

Hornbach's assortment has more dimensions, and you can buy individually if you want.

Happily noted that Biltema has started to restock the mentioned wood screw assortment on the shelves. Not as extensive as when it was in yellow paper packaging, but still a small comfort. Hornbach's assortment is unbeatable in this case and only slightly more expensive.
