Which wood for concrete casting with wood grain
Hello,
We are planning a large casting and want to achieve as much wood graining/patina as possible in the concrete.
What type of wood should be chosen ideally, is it formwork lumber or is there something else to consider? Alternatively, custom ordering, but I'm unsure what to ask for and the sawmills I've spoken with are also unsure and don't dare to give clear advice.
And how about rough-sawn/planed/sawn/spruce/pine, which provides the most grain?
And is there a way to raise the wood fibers, or does it happen naturally during casting?

At work, we use brädform, that is, regular sawn boards.

I think you should have normally sawn one-inch timber of varying widths, it is preferable if you want a lively surface.
If you wish for an extra lively surface, you order utskottsvirke, then you get knot holes and waney edges.
