Today, we have a sunroom with scissor trusses and a standing seam metal roof on top.

We really like the space it provides inside with a little extra ceiling height, but in conjunction with a major renovation of the house, we have decided to demolish this sunroom, which stands on pillars, expand the existing basement underneath, and rebuild it more substantially and winterized. We also wish to build a rooftop terrace above (included in the building permit), and I am now considering which truss construction we should invest in to achieve this solution.

Since I work with steelwork, it would be possible to manufacture custom trusses from steel lattice, perhaps according to the most basic design in green.

The critical factor is that we want as little construction height as possible right in the middle, where the moment is greatest.

We are considering dense roofing felt as the outer roof up to the last roof below the railing, which we will likely cover with standing seam metal.

Are there any ready-made construction concepts for similar needs, or is it smarter to build in steel?

The span, as well as the length from the existing wall to the chimney, is 5m.
