I am going to apply a silicone bead on a countertop that faces a wall, and there's an "expensive" photo wallpaper on the wall that I don't want to damage... what tape should I use when masking to apply the silicone joint??

Hello
Is a silicone strip really necessary against the wallpaper? Handling tape on wallpaper is tedious. Besides, silicone seems more like a barrier against water, and you probably don't have that against the wallpaper anyway?

there is a "small" gap between the board and the wall (of 2mm) that I would like to seal with a silicone string :)...
...hence the problem...but maybe it hinders more than it helps?

I probably wouldn't have put silicone there either, it's hard to make it look nice, maybe a narrow variant of a quarter round?

Agree that it will be difficult to make it look nice. We are in the process of removing the silicon and will put a suitable molding there.

Otherwise, latex in different colors is available at a well-stocked hardware store..

I would consider something as simple as a piece of rubber hose/string in the right dimension that can be pressed into the gap instead
