Hello,

I'm setting up an interior wall with 45x95mm wooden studs and wondering what screws I should actually use to anchor them to the walls and ceiling. Are plastic plugs necessary?

I was at Byggmax today, and the salesperson said that plastic plugs were needed, but wouldn't http://www.byggmax.com/se-sv/byggvaror/spik-skruv-beslag/skruv/skruv-bult/24850/montageskruv with a length of 85 work straight through? That way, you wouldn't have to pre-drill and so on.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

It would be helpful if you describe what materials you have in the walls and ceiling.

The thing is, I don't really know... is there an easy way to find out or do I have to ask the landlord?

Okay, you mention the landlord.

Keep in mind not to damage the existing floor and ceiling as you are obligated to restore the apartment if you live in a rental apartment. It's probably possible to use anything from suitable double-sided tape to concrete screws or maybe long wood screws. Everything depends, as mentioned, on the material you need to attach the sill and wall plate to.

Bought self-service construction screws at Byggmax and saw when I got home that the bit is PH1, the smallest size, and tried to screw it into a beam. It only goes in 3 cm before the forces become too great and the bit starts to slip, and the screw can't be screwed in or out. Pure crap, how can you sell 85 mm long screws with PH1?
