Only nail into concrete? Then you have to hit quite well....

Molding nails for concrete are among the most commonly used.
 
Take Styrofoam moldings and install with latex caulk
 
Why moldings if both walls and ceiling are concrete? Usually not needed then.

because it looks nicer with ceiling moldings. You get rid of the box feeling a bit.
then it can crack at the meeting of the ceiling and wall even when it's concrete.

Paint the ceiling trim in the same color as the ceiling. I think it looks really weird with a matte ceiling and a glossy white trim that's probably painted with S0502Y if we're talking about pre-painted trims.

In my eyes, cornices are a necessary evil in wooden houses. In a stone house, they just look silly.

We want to install crown molding to create a smoother edge since the walls and ceiling are in different colors, and it feels a bit like a box, as someone mentioned earlier.

Sounds like Styrofoam might be the better option if you don't need to paint them.
