Hi, which c/c is suitable for exterior gypsum (villa), pros and cons of using 1200 or 900 boards, besides weight difference?
Normally, you have studs at 60 cm centers because it suits the insulation and it's also suitable for the plasterboard.
The 900 mm board is easier to handle but you will probably see that there is a big price difference on these (more expensive than the larger board).

1200 is probably the most common for the reason Mathias mentions with wall studs on c/c 600. The problem with 1200 is precisely the size and thus the weight

Thank you for the response!
"ByggaNytt" - I see in your picture that you are using plastic strips as a joint on 1200, did your joints not end up on the studs?

To meet certain standards, the plastic strip is needed. The plasterboard manufacturers themselves indicate that it has a very small effect in practice and that you can with a clear conscience skip it. Although it is easy to put it in place.ByggaNytt said:
The Work Environment Act does not prescribe any products. However, it states that you should use the most suitable material and method. If you can justify why you should use a 1200 mm gypsum board, then there are no problems.
If you want to maintain a stud distance of 600 mm but use 900 mm gypsum, you can also mount the board horizontally.
