I wonder if there's anyone knowledgeable who can answer which material on the pipe bend contains asbestos?

The thing is, I had a sample taken from another bend when I had the decontaminators at home, and I seem to remember they took a piece hanging in the gauze itself. This turned out to be asbestos (amosite). I also seem to remember that it wasn't like the fine "powder" in the picture but something more yellowish/brownish.
As I understand it, asbestos compound was applied directly to the pipes, followed by plaster and gauze on the outside?
I assume they did it the same way around both this bend in the boiler room and the bends in other parts of the basement?!

So if someone could explain how the h** it actually is, I'd be extremely grateful.

Merry Christmas!
