I was thinking of building a shoe rack and need to get hold of wider flat boards. Jem and fix only have studs. Do I have to go to a more serious building market or?

How wide is a bräda?

According to Wikipedia, a bräda is thinner than 38mm and wider than 63mm. But it probably depends a bit on whom you ask.

How wide is a board?

Max 1 1/2" thick and at least 3" wide, if you plane it, a few millimeters disappear.

Wider boards are often found directly from someone who owns a sawmill, with band sawmills it's often possible to saw unedged boards over 50cm wide which most with circular saws find difficult.
