Need to buy a small, cheap twongblandare as soon as possible. Max 10,000 and preferably not via online store but a physical store somewhere between northern Sthlm and Uppsala.
Anyone have a tip - tips leading to purchase rewarded with a gold star!
you can always rent e.g. cramo, Lambertsson, ramirent etc.
What are you going to use it for?
I myself have a Cement mixer 165l from jula which I used to pour a double garage with etc and much more.
I have an older version than the link http://www.jula.se/betongblandare-165-l-251015
What is the practical difference compared to a regular tumbler?
Wondering the same thing. According to Wikipedia, the following applies:
The less common type of concrete mixer is the compulsory mixer*(also known as "pan mixer"). The most common design is a fixed drum with rotating blades inside. The quality of the mixed product is better with the help of this method, for example, concrete*generally has higher compressive strength if mixed with a compulsory mixer, compared to free-fall mixers.*
I usually use Soroto mixers, they work incredibly well, however, I don't have any tips on where you can buy them and the price range is about 11-12000.
Now, you mentioned compulsory mixers under 10' and in the Uppland area, BUT as buuz suggests, Soroto is very good. You can buy one from this company in Örebro, and then it ends up a bit over 10', depending on the size: http://www.nimaab.se/se/grp/cementblandare.php
BUT I think it's still a better deal if you can spare the money! These are the models rental companies often use, which probably says something about the quality. Mixers in a plastic bucket? Consider if you should rather buy what you need, use it, and then sell it on. It might still break even!
Another option is to ask if you can rent long-term at a better price, OR buy from the rental company (and maybe sell back later).
It turned out that I purchased from Epox and they were very helpful. They started by warning that the Mix 60 was probably too weak for clay plastering. They had a used Mix 120 in stock that I could get for 11,000 SEK, but said there was a risk that it might also be on the weaker side and that a Mix 120 plus would be the best choice. Unfortunately, it's far beyond my budget, so I took a chance on the Mix 120.
It turned out they were right; it's a bit too weak, but since I mostly work alone, I can make smaller batches without being too disturbed by the slow pace. Another option is to soak the clay thoroughly beforehand to make the mixing easier.
As mentioned - a very good price and it works for my needs, but if one intends to mix a lot of clay, it might be a good idea to choose a larger/more powerful model.
I must say that I'm worried about your back? One mixes in a plastic bowl at ground level - then you lift it onto a cart? Or you can cart the material around and move the mixer to where you're working ..
