Where can I buy tread plates cheaply in Gothenburg and what should it cost?

I will be manufacturing ramps for a trailer, so I need checker plate which I plan to bend into an upside-down U-profile to increase strength.

I need a full-size sheet, 2.5x1.25 meters, which I will split lengthwise.

I have a price of 40 kr/kg for aluminum, about 1200 kr in total for a 3 mm. I thought it was expensive so I went to another place to inquire about the same sheet instead, there he wants 1800 kr for 4 mm which I was surprised about.

Can someone enlighten me if these are good prices or completely off? I'm in a bit of a hurry to get it too.

40:-/kg for a private person is completely okay, I don't think you'll find a better price.

I personally buy quite a bit of aluminum (around 500 tons/year)

For alu it's okay yes, but I thought that if I instead bought sheet metal, I would get a cheaper product (but heavier). But maybe it's precisely the weight that's the problem, the price per kg goes down but the total price goes up due to the extra kg that a tread plate in just metal weighs.

The prices are probably at the levels you describe. Was VAT included?

The scrapyard BUYS ALU for 8 SEK/kg... Someone in the chain from production to end consumer must add a percentage along the way.

A checker plate 2/4mm 1250x2500 at a wholesaler costs about 800:- a smooth aluminum plate 4mm 1250x2500 costs about 1400:- ex. VAT.
It's not surprising that the smooth plate is more expensive as it weighs about 14kg more.

www.montano.se I just bought a sheet from them. It's a steel durk, admittedly, but they have aluminum durks too, check under aluminum. I just went there, they helped cut the sheet, though it cost 450 kr, super expensive but I couldn't do it myself, so I had no choice.
