As I thought then... According to the pictures, the screws should be used to attach the awning to the wall bracket. Screws to fasten the bracket to the wall are not included, so you have to get them yourself based on the conditions at the location.
How is that supposed to work? If the carriage bolts occupy the holes in the wall bracket? So you should use the included bolts plus additional screws to secure the awning to the wall?

Thanks. What kind of screws might they be? French wood screws? Should that work?

Is it wood paneling?
How thick is the wood paneling?
What is behind the wood paneling?
Etc?

It should go through the falspanelen (wood) and into this support beam.

falspanel about 2cm thick
Behind the panrl is a support beam

I interpret that the carriage bolts are used solely for roof mounting to attach the L-bracket to whatever-it's-called. To attach the L-bracket to the ceiling or the whatever-it's-called to the wall, you use screws that are not included.

French wood screws may feel a bit much, something a bit smaller should work, but remember to use outdoor screws so they won't rust immediately.

Talk to the guy in the store. It's only the French screw I should use. Not the carriage bolt at all. That bolt is apparently meant to attach the different brackets to each other IF you're going to mount the awning on a ceiling.
Could that be correct?

French wood screws seem a bit excessive, something a little smaller would probably work, but remember to use outdoor screws so they don't rust instantly.
The bolts are intended for use in roof mounting. I probably need strong French wood screws as the awning is 5.5m long and weighs 70kg.
