Hi, I received screws in the package for a terrace awning. It turned out that the screw included was too short. What is the name of this screw? So I can check where it is available in a longer model? Best regards

Assuming you've considered the possibility that you're trying to assemble the thing the wrong way, but I'm saying it anyway.

Incredible ;)
Big thanks!

What do you mean? I didn't really follow.
What I'm wondering is that I have a wooden facade. Does this bolt work for wood? Or could it be something else I need?

Just saying that, if I consider myself, I probably could have convinced myself that a bolt was too short before realizing that I was trying to assemble something the wrong way...

PS that type of bolt works by making a through-hole in, for example, wood.

Yes, it is intended for wood. The square section pulls into the wood and prevents the screw from turning when the nut is tightened.

Carriage bolts can be used for wood but also metal if the holes are square, to prevent the screw from rotating as mexitegel mentioned.

Okay, I understand now. Good input! Logically, the bolt is too short. It needs to go through the wood facade and into the supporting beam behind it. Additionally, I called the customer service that sold the product. They also said that all houses are different. You need to buy what you need :)

How are you supposed to attach the nut if the screw is supposed to go into the supporting beam?
Presumably, you need a wood screw in the right dimension?
What does the assembly instruction say?

Where are the included screws intended to be used? The only possibility is if you attach the awning to a steel beam... Or they should be used somewhere else.

Not much...

  • Installation instructions for an awning, showing mounting brackets and steps for securing it to the wall, including detailed measurements and diagrams.
Do you interpret this as both of these parts being used, or just one of them? I believe that the slightly darker larger one is for if you want to hang the awning in the ceiling construction.

  • Illustration showing awning mounting instructions with a highlighted section suggesting ceiling installation with two different brackets.
As I thought then... According to the pictures, the screws are to be used to attach the awning to the wall bracket. Screws to attach the bracket to the wall are not included, so you have to get those yourself based on the conditions at the location.

Thanks. What kind of screws might they be? wood screws? Should that work?
