Silly question here, but I live in an apartment in a building built around 1977. This building has a slightly special construction. It has brick on the short sides and "living" material with a metal facade on the long sides. This means the interior walls are stone/concrete but the exterior walls are some type of board. It's convenient when you want to fasten things since you don't need to drill hard. But I'm a bit unsure of what type of board it is in the external walls. I assume gypsum, because it's definitely a board and I get a white dust when I drill. But is it always gypsum in such cases? I didn't think gypsum was used at that time, but I could be wrong. Is it gypsum, or if not, what kind of material is it? I'm mainly wondering because I need to get the right type of anchors/plugs to fasten relatively heavy curtain rails.
I think the most reasonable thing is that you have plasterboards as interior wall cladding. I perceive it as very common in houses from at least the 1960s onwards.
