Hello Everyone,
I am considering buying a two-story house from around 1969 that needs an extension and renovation. I have limited experience with concrete house structures and wonder if anyone here can give me some advice on what could be done (with an experienced builder). I have some specific questions, but you can give me general answers.
1) Is it possible to remove the ceiling/framework on the second floor and create a vaulted ceiling? What is needed?
2) How can you place new windows in existing exterior walls? Do you need to consider any existing structure?
3) How is forced ventilation typically installed in such houses? I want to improve beyond today's passive self-draft due to radon and want to improve energy performance.
4) Are all parts of the house's exterior wall load-bearing?
Construction year: 1969
Foundation: Slab on ground

Facade: Lightweight concrete elements
Windows: Insulating glass units

Floor structure: Lightweight concrete elements
Thank you all knowledgeable!
