what kind of hinge for this cabinet door? picture*

I decided to use a box above the wardrobe because I thought it was a shame for so much space to be wasted.

The framework itself is installed, it will be tidied up with filler and latex or something later.

But I want a door that can open upwards towards the ceiling, preferably without hinges that have too much resistance like in the kitchens of the 90s. It would cause unnecessary wear on the framework and screws that come loose, etc...

After a visit to Ikea, I fell in love with the handleless doors that you press on so the door pops out.
- perhaps I could have regular hinges on the side, no handle, and use that press function instead.

I'm not quite sure... I want a door with a good opening solution.

Any tips?

If it opens upwards, wouldn't you have to be quite tall to be able to close it?

Although you have to be quite tall to put things up there, standing on something becomes a necessity anyway.

I thought it could become the "secret" or private drawer... Maybe also add a lock cylinder through the hatch, so the kids can feel like they have their own cabinet that no one rummages through...

(the build is in two bedrooms)

But yes, as mentioned, it might be better to have a full door with side hinges instead... it would look nicer to actually avoid a handle...
